INTERMENT AND INURNMENT CHARGES

Casket Burial
  • Adult Regular: $1,500
  • Adult Double Depth: $1,700
  • Servicing casket containers supplied by others: $300
  • Saturday Surcharge: $2,000
  • Holiday Surcharge: $2,000
  • Disinterment: $2,250
  • Additional Overtime: $400 per hour for any portion thereof.
Cremated Remains
  • Earth Burial: $700 (urn only)
  • Earth Burial: $850 (with funeral home supplied vault)
  • Earth Burial Saturday: $1,000
  • Earth Burial at Cemetery’s Convenience: $650 (urn only)
Winter Charge
  • All Burials: $400 (Dec. 1- March 31)
Greenman Chapel
  • Chapel Service: $300 (One and one half hour, excludes clergy)
Cemetery Products
  • 30 inch unsealed grave liner: $650
  • 30 inch double depth grave liner: $1,000
  • Cremation Vault: $250
  • Casket Placer: $100
  • Tent: $250
  • Foundations: $150 per surface square foot. $250 Minimum (April – Nov. Only)

Interment charges include opening the grave, handling casket or other container, use of the lowering device (casket burials), greens, turf placement or replacement, reseeding or replacement of any groundcover, removal of grave flowers, and permanent recording of documents.

All interments must be completed by 3:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday and by 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. An additional overtime fee of $350.00 will be assessed to any service which extends past 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday or any service that extends past 12:00 p. m. on Saturdays. No cremation services past 11:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

Regulation Information

Effective immediately, Elm Grove Cemetery will need the following for ALL burials:
Full Interment:
  • Health Department Burial Permit.
  • Payment for services at time of burial.
Cremation:
  • Cremation Affidavit
  • Death Certificate (Photocopy). Payment for services at time of burial.

All burials must meet these requirements. All burials must be paid no later than the day of the burial.

Casket Containers:

All burials in Elm Grove Cemetery (excluding cremation) must have a concrete casket container to preserve the integrity of the cemetery lots and to prevent grave collapse. Elm Grove can provide basic casket containers to Elm Grove Cemetery Association lot owners.

All casket containers (i.e. vaults, crypts, grave liners) provided by a funeral home will require an additional $300.00 fee. Elm Grove Cemetery reserves the exclusive right to place vaults and covers from any vault company at any time Elm Grove Cemetery management deems it necessary.

IMPORTANT REGULATION

All services are under direct control of the Superintendent or Superintendents assistant upon entering the main entrance. This includes funeral directors, clergy, members of the funeral party, vault companies, or any other persons or personnel.

Saturday funeral services and cremation services MUST be pre-arranged with the cemetery office by 4:00p.m. on the previous Thursday. Monday funeral and cremation services must be scheduled by 12:00 p.m. on the previous Friday. Grave openings for funeral and cremation services scheduled after 12:00p.m. on the previous Friday will NOT be guaranteed. This also applies to holiday services.

THERE WILL BE NO INTERMENTS OR GRAVE OPENINGS ON SUNDAYS, THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS DAY, NEW YEARS DAY, MEMORIAL DAY, INDEPENDENCE DAY, OR LABOR DAY. HOLIDAY SURCHARGE APPLIES TO MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY, PRESIDENTS DAY, VERTERANS DAY, and COLUMBUS DAY.

Other Services

Grave Location Research - No charge, however requires 48 hour appointment. Elm Grove Cemetery will not provide location or biographical information over the phone or internet.

  • Genealogy: Requires appointment and $25 per half hour fee.
  • Records: No charge for basic information but limited only to next of kin to the deceased.
  • Photo copy of available records: $10 each
  • Lot ownership determination: Title Search $25
  • Duplicate Deeds: $50
  • Inclusion of cremains in a casket at same time as burial: $200
  • Removal of shrubs: $200
  • Flush Marker resetting: $100
  • Monument searches for inscriptions: $25
  • Additional Perpetual Care: $20 per square foot of lot space.

Clergy, Flowers, Flags, Flag holders, Funeral Directors, Flower Pots, Monuments, Grief Counseling, Crematory Services, Cremation Storage, Financing, and Military services.

  • Single Graves - Permitting one lawn marker: $1,800
PAULOWINA AVENUE (SECTION 10)
  • Single Graves: $2,500 (Permitting slant marker.)
  • Companion Lot: $3,500 (Two grave lot permitting slant marker. Flowering shrubs and perennials permitted.)
  • Family Lot: $7,000 (Four grave lot permitting granite monument. Flowering shrubs and perennials permitted.)
BIRCH PATH (SECTION 13 & 14)
  • Companion Lot: $3,500 (Two grave lot permitting slant marker. Flowering shrubs and perennials permitted.)
  • Family Lot: $7,000 (Four grave lot permitting granite monument and pillow style markers. Flowering shrubs and perennials permitted.)
CYPRESS AVENUE (SECTION 7)
  • Family Lot: $7,000 (Four grave lot permitting granite monument and pillow style markers. Flowering shrubs and perennials permitted.)
  • Estate Lot: $14,000 (Eight grave lot permitting large size granite memorial and pillow style markers. Flowering shrubs and Perennials permitted. Convenient location by main entrance.)

Lot prices include a perpetual care fee to ensure that Elm Grove Cemetery continues to be very well-maintained and financially sound.

PREMIUM LOCATIONS

Elm Grove Cemetery has a very limited selection of premium lots located near the scenic Mystic River. The pricing for select locations starts at $20,000.00 for a four grave lot which allows for a large monument memorial. Lots are situated on River Avenue and Rose of Sharon Avenue. Please inquire with the Superintendent for availability and details.

Jasmine and Evergreen Path

Located near Elm Groves historic center on Jasmine and Evergreen Path is our newest cremation area with wonderfully picturesque views overlooking the beautiful Mystic River. Graves are available for 1 and 2 cremated remains. Inscription rights on an elegant yet simple shared memorial obelisk.
